Tri-Clamp Buna-N Gasket (Nitrile Rubber)

Our Buna-N Tri-Clamp Gaskets are made from food-grade nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) and comply with 3-A sanitary standards. Buna-N is an economical, all-purpose elastomer known for excellent resistance to oils, fuels, butane, propane and other hydrocarbons – making it ideal for closed-loop extraction systems and general industrial use. These gaskets perform reliably in low to moderate temperatures (approximately -40°F to 212°F), providing a secure, leak-proof seal for Tri-Clamp (Tri-Clover) connections in breweries, food processing, and chemical applications.

Buna-N’s temperature tolerance is limited (not suitable for steam or high-heat CIP sterilization), and it offers only moderate chemical compatibility (not recommended for strong polar solvents like ketones or ozone-rich environments). In return, it boasts good compression set characteristics, excellent resistance to oils and fats, and a very low cost per gasket – an affordable and reliable choice for many general-purpose sanitary piping needs.

• Material & Compliance: Black NBR rubber, food-grade 3A/FDA compliant. Not USP Class VI.

• Temperature Range: Approx. -30°F to 200°F continuous use. Not for high-temperature steam service.

• Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to hydrocarbons (butane, propane, oils). Fair compatibility with alcohols; not suitable for strong solvents.

• Durability: Good tear resistance and mechanical properties. Moderate lifespan – holds up in low-temp processes but hardens over time with heat.

• Best Uses: Cost-sensitive and general-purpose applications – breweries, food processing, cannabis extraction, petroleum-based fluids.
