Static Dissipative PTFE Hose, Stainless Braided, 3/8" to 3/4"
ABOUT THIS PART
A static dissipative PTFE hose assembly with a stainless steel braid and 316 stainless compression tube stub ends crimped on both sides, in 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 inch, from 24 to 144 inches. $234.95 to $1,054.95. Crimped in Bend, Oregon.
Certified static dissipative. The PTFE liner has carbon blended into it, so the charge that solvent builds moving through the bore is carried to the fitting instead of stored in the wall. 3P Certz engineering report ECR-250902-R0 instructs the operator directly: do not attach hoses without an approved static dissipative rating to the collection port, and the required warning label on a certified system reads "Use static dissipative hoses."
Ratings
| Item | Figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum pressure, assembly | 1000 psi (68.9 bar) | ECR-250902-R0, as N.B. Oler part NBO-PTFE-6 |
| Maximum pressure, hose component alone | 900 psi (62.1 bar) | ECR-250902-R0, Parker STB series |
| Temperature range | -80 to 200 °C (-112 to 392 °F) | ECR-250902-R0 |
| Wetted materials | 316 stainless and PTFE | ECR-250902-R0 |
| NFPA 58 minimum after couplings | 700 psig (48.3 bar) | NFPA 58, 5.11.6.4(C) |
NFPA 58 requires an LP-Gas hose assembly to hold at least 700 psig (48.3 bar) once the couplings are on. This one is certified at 1000 psi (68.9 bar).
Sizes and bore
The hose is named by its fitting size, not its bore. Size from these numbers if you are working out flow.
| Hose size | Actual inside diameter | Lengths |
|---|---|---|
| 3/8 in. | 0.245 in. | 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 96, 108, 120, 144 in. |
| 1/2 in. | 0.37 in. | 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 96 in. |
| 3/4 in. | 0.62 in. | 24, 48, 60, 72 in. |
Ordering and fitment
- Length is end to end, tip to tip, across the whole assembly including both fittings. Order the length you need to span, not the hose between the ferrules
- The fitting size has to match the hose size. We cannot crimp a 3/4 inch fitting onto a 3/8 inch hose. Going from one size to another is done with a reducer compression fitting outside the assembly, which adds length at each end
- Any length, built to order. We have built 18, 30, 54 and 84 inch assemblies among others, so ask
- Not a sanitary hose. An exposed wire braid traps product between the strands, cannot be wiped down properly, and the cut wire ends at the ferrule will catch a glove. This is a process hose for solvent service. If you need a cleanable exterior for wash-down or food contact, this is not the part
- On bend radius, because it is the most common disappointment: black braided PTFE, white PTFE and stainless braided hose all bend about the same, because all three are built around the same PTFE core. Changing the cover does not meaningfully tighten the radius. For a hard turn in a confined space the answer is bent stainless tubing fabricated to your geometry, and we do that work too
Inspection, per the certifier
- Before each run, check every hose for cracking, splitting or kinking. A failed hose is replaced before the process continues
- At least once a year, remove and inspect every hose, including the runs you cannot see in place
- Never try to clear a blocked or kinked hose with pressure. Replace it
We built these with Swagelok assemblies for years and moved to this hose, crimped in our own shop, for lead time and control over the build. Related reading: Certifications and Compliance.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Is this hose static dissipative?
Yes, and it is certified. The PTFE liner has carbon blended into it, so charge built by solvent moving through the bore is carried to the fitting instead of stored in the wall. 3P Certz report ECR-250902-R0 lists it as static dissipative and instructs operators not to attach hoses without an approved static dissipative rating to a collection port.
What is it rated for?
1000 psi (68.9 bar), and -80 °C to 200 °C (-112 °F to 392 °F), as N.B. Oler part NBO-PTFE-6 in engineering report ECR-250902-R0. NFPA 58 requires an LP-Gas hose assembly to hold at least 700 psig (48.3 bar) after couplings are applied.
What is the actual inside diameter?
The hose is named by its fitting size, not its bore. A 3/8 inch hose has a 0.245 inch ID, a 1/2 inch hose has 0.37 inch, and a 3/4 inch hose has 0.62 inch. Size from those numbers if you are working out flow.
What does the length measure?
End to end, tip to tip, across the whole assembly including both fittings. Order the length you need to span.
Can you crimp a different size fitting on the end?
No. The fitting size has to match the hose size. To reach a different connection size, use a reducer compression fitting outside the assembly. That works, but it adds length at each end.
Is the stainless braid sanitary?
No. An exposed wire braid traps product between the strands and cannot be wiped down properly, and the cut wire ends at the ferrule will catch a glove. This is a process hose for solvent service, not a wash-down or food-contact hose.
How often should I replace it?
Inspect every hose before each run for cracking, splitting or kinking, and pull every hose for inspection at least once a year, including the runs you cannot see in place. Those intervals come from the certification report, not from us. If a hose is blocked or kinked, replace it. Never try to clear it with pressure.
Will a different cover give me a tighter bend radius?
No. Black braided PTFE, white PTFE and stainless braided hose all bend about the same, because all three are built around the same PTFE core. For a hard turn in a confined space the answer is bent stainless tubing made to your geometry, not a flexible hose.
Do you make custom lengths?
Yes, any length. The listed lengths are what we stock. We have built 18, 30, 54 and 84 inch assemblies, among others.
