What we have, and what it costs

Everything in 1/2 inch is $74.95 until it is gone

We bought the 1/2 inch parts for builds that changed, and they have sat on the shelf since. They are new, unused and genuine, and we would rather they were in somebody's system than in our rack. So all three 1/2 inch pieces are $74.95, which is under the cheapest new listing we could find anywhere for the Swagelok body, and well under what these normally sell for.

There are 4 Swagelok bodies, 5 Superlok bodies and 10 Superlok stems. When they are gone they are gone, and 1/2 inch goes back to special order.

The 3/8 inch is different. That is our regular stocked size, it moves steadily, and you can order it any time whether or not the count on this page says zero. If we are out we will tell you the lead time.

Check the minimum temperature before you order

The Superlok quick connects are rated to a minimum of 10 °F (-12 °C). That is the specification people miss on these fittings, and it is the one that bites, because plenty of extraction work runs colder than that. If your line sees colder than 10 °F, this is the wrong fitting and you should call us at 541-330-6409 rather than order one. The Swagelok QC8 body runs a little colder, down to -10 °F (-23 °C).

Stem or body, and which brand

The stem is the male half. The body is the female half. You need one of each to make a connection, and both are sold separately here.

Swagelok and Superlok do not interchange. Different manufacturers, different couplings. A Superlok stem will not enter a Swagelok body and the reverse is equally true. Match the brand you already have in the plant.

Sizes do not cross either. A 3/8 inch stem will not go into a 1/2 inch body. Superlok codes its series by size: SQC2 is the 3/8 inch family, SQC3 is the 1/2 inch family. Swagelok's QC8 is the 1/2 inch size in its instrumentation line.

Double shut-off, and why it matters

Every part on this page is valved. Both halves seal as they separate, so a charged line does not dump on the floor when you break the connection. Superlok calls it DESO and codes it DO. On the Superlok parts, spillage on disconnect is about 1.0 cm3.

That is the whole reason to spend this money instead of unthreading a fitting. If you are breaking and remaking a solvent, gas or instrumentation line regularly, a double shut-off quick connect pays for itself in mess you did not clean up.

What is not included

Each part is sold singly. A stem does not come with a body and a body does not come with a stem. Tube, nuts and ferrule sets are not included either, and we sell nut and ferrule sets separately.

What these are not

These are instrumentation quick connects for process, solvent and gas lines. They are not our flat face zero spill coupling, which is a separate 3/4 inch product for coolant and glycol loops. They are not tri-clamp fittings. They are not rated for the pressures our tri-clamp hardware handles, so read the numbers above before you put one somewhere it does not belong.
