Generant RVA relief valve, 1/2 in MNPT male, ASME coded and National Board certified, with the UV and NB stamps on the valve itself. Two set pressures, 22 psi and 100 psi, both $269.00.
This is the valve to fit when the jurisdiction, the AHJ or the insurer asks for an ASME stamp. The brass CRV we also stock is not coded and will not satisfy an inspector who asks for one.
The short version
- Code: ASME BPVC Section XIII, National Board certified, UV and NB stamps on the valve
- Connection: 1/2 in MNPT male, port code 500B
- Orifice area: 0.062 sq in (40 sq mm), derated Kd of 0.667
- Full rated flow at 110 percent of set pressure. Back pressure to 10 percent has no effect on the setting
- Temperature: -320 F to 200 F (-196 C to 93 C)
- Gas service only. On cryogenic media it needs vapor barrier piping upstream
- Set pressure is factory preset and permanently locked. It is not adjustable
- Cleaned and packaged for oxygen service per CGA G-4.1

One installation requirement worth reading twice
The RVA is rated for gas service only. On cryogenic media it must be installed with vapor barrier piping upstream, the candy cane. Plumb it straight into liquid and it will not do what the datasheet says, and an inspector will ask.

If nobody is asking for a stamp, the CRV is the cheaper part and does the same job. For the high flow relief on a solvent tank or recovery vessel top, the part is the Conrader SRV530 instead.
Accuracy, testing and service life
- Set tolerance: plus or minus 1.45 psi below 49 psi, plus or minus 3 percent at 49 psi and above, to EN ISO 4126-1
- Every valve is 100 percent factory tested for crack and reseat before it ships
- Replace every 12 months. An ASME relief on a large vessel should not be lifting at all
- If yours has vented, look at it now rather than at its next interval
