Relief valves for closed loop systems, in the three kinds a hydrocarbon shop actually needs. They are not interchangeable, so read which job you are buying for.

  • Cryogenic relief valves, 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch MNPT, rated to -320 F (-196 C) so they still seat and still relieve on a cold vessel. An ordinary relief valve stiffens and leaks at those temperatures, which is a common reason a system will not pull vacuum.
  • ASME coded relief valves, National Board certified and stamped, for the solvent tank and the recovery vessel. On those two the deciding number is flow, not set pressure, which is why the high flow valve exists.
  • Adjustable relief valves in 1/4 inch tube, for setting a relief point on a line rather than on a vessel.
  • Also here is the 6 inch end cap, because it can be ordered with a relief valve port already fitted.

These are wear parts, not fit and forget, and set pressures and replacement intervals are on every page. They are purchased parts rather than things we fabricate. We stock them because they are what our own systems run.

Choosing a set pressure and an interval is covered in Cryogenic Relief Valve Selection, and what to reorder and when is in Service Schedule and Reorder List.
